maryjane shoes

I fell in love this last week.  While visiting a couple friends, and one that just had a baby, I noticed Mary had brought over some cute boots and shoes for the new baby.  they, of course, were crocheted.  I ooed and awed over them and wanted to dig my eyes into the pattern.

I found on Etsy a woman who makes patterns and sells them.  contacted her and found cheaper ones, from the same woman, on another site.  I got four new patterns, and I am in heaven.

As I type this, I have one shoe completed (minus a button closer) and need to finish the other for my new niece.  Granted, she is three months old and not "new" anymore - she is still new to me :)

such excitement.

time flies

I had all intentions of doing a post on Valentine's Day, but it skipped my mind.  I ran to ittle little's school and had lunch with him and then helped out in the classroom per his begging.

So, my post will be one day late, but that is a-okay.  Mister and I have come a long ways.  I think with the near-death experience for me we have gotten even closer.  One would think, right?  It is hard to believe that in 2003 we met via a blind date and are still going strong, if not stronger.  I had been single after my divorce for 4 years before meeting Mister.  A mutual friend set us up.  Our very first date was October 1, 2003.  He was in the gambling industry and insurance was my career at that point.  On the third date - we were exclusive.  It wasn't until Christmas time that year that our children met each other and we co-mingled our dates.

Of course, through the last 7 1/2 years we had our ups and downs - dramas with certain issues/people, but it has only helped our love for each other to grow.  When my husband stepped up to the plate and adopted three little children that weren't his own because they needed that role model and father-figure in their lives it made me realize what kind of man I had married.  Not every man is willing to take on another person's role.

The Valentine's Day card he got me said something to the tune of "If we were in Kindergarten - I would pull your pigtails and chase you around at recess."  lol  How fitting :)  I love Mister with all my heart and if we were in kinder I would prob let him chase me.

Here is Chris and I a few years and pounds ago :)
